Through these unprecedented times Tremco illbruck have made every effort to protect our employees with the implementation of safe working practices, according to the Government guidelines, whilst maintaining business continuity.
As a key supplier to the UK construction industry, and in line with the statement from the Secretary of State on the 31st March, we plan to continue to manufacture at all of our sites and maintain our service to the UK construction industry.
All of our manufacturing facilities are still producing and dispatching on a daily basis. The safety and wellbeing of our employees, suppliers and customers is our first priority. Therefore we have put in place robust processes which minimise contact and we continue to regularly monitor the health of our teams. We have no plans to close any of our manufacturing and warehouse facilities unless the situation changes and we are instructed to do so by the Government.
In the current situation, we are faced with the unknown concept of “lock down”, this is a time that many of us are bound to find challenging. For the majority, living in such close quarters with other members of our family, having to fit work in around our children and other caring responsibilities, could become somewhat of a nightmare. Some of us may be suffering from cabin fever, some of us may be suffering from the disruption of our normal daily routines. For many, the prospect of an extended isolation is likely to change the way in which we work.
Here at Firetherm, the team work from home regularly, so have plenty of experience of how to do this effectively. Check out our hints and tips:
Structure Your Day:
When working from home, you’re your own manager. Without things like an in-person meetings to break up your day, you can be quick to lose focus and burn out. Our advice to you is structure your day like you would in an office, stay on schedule and segment what you’ll do and when over the course of the day.
Choose A Dedicated Work-space:
Where you can work from the same place every day. Dedicate a specific room or surface in your home to work. When it’s time to clock out – leave that space and try not to return until the following morning. Working from home sometimes means that you are constantly on-the-go – but in these unprecedented times, it is important to switch off and spend time focusing on you and your families.
Communicate Your Expectations:
Make sure that your family know that you are working from home and respect your space during working hours – don’t be afraid to put time in your work diary for planning either – this time is the perfect opportunity for you look at your projects at hand and develop a path for moving forward.
Communication is a two-way thing – stay in regular touch with your contacts via the use of phone calls, teams’ chats, zoom, Skype or facetime. Remember we are still only a click or buzz away!
Commit to Completing Those Tasks
We all have projects or tasks that we try to avoid – let’s face it, no one’s job is perfect. So, during this time of lock down use your time wisely. Whether its writing a specification, completing product training, or finishing off those small tasks on the to-do list – commit to completing those tasks. Remember, our team are still on hand to help – Give us a call or drop us an email and we will work with you to start ticking off those tasks.
Music is the Soundtrack of Your Career
During the week, music is the soundtrack of your career. Whether you’re listening to it in the office, through your headset – the best playlists are the diverse ones, but our tip for working from home is match your music to your projects or tasks at hand. We are all going to have a lot of time to concentrate, so explore the powers of lyric-free music, designed to help with concentration – you are bound to power through that to-do list.
Working from home can be great…right until the distractions begin to get in the way. You will discover you have a neighbour who is a budding inventor and starts firing up the power tools, a pet that is becoming more needy as the days go on and your family will start to grind on your nerves. So, remember our most important WFH Tip:
Take a Break
Even when your working in the office,it is unlikely that you are 100% dedicated to the job 9-5. You will have a break, make a drink and have a catch up with your colleagues – make sure you do this at home.
Our team are still only a call or email away. So, give us a shout, use this time to speak with our technical and sales team to develop a fuller understanding of our products and how they work. Sign up to our online training sessions and remember to give us a shout if you have any queries on specifications or projects that will be coming up soon when everything resumes to normal.

Commercial Manager – Ti UK Ltd
The current Covid-19 crisis is having a significant impact on the supply chains of many manufacturers, ours included. The wellbeing of our people, our suppliers and our customers is our priority.
Additional safety measures have been implemented in our business and our partners which means increased pressure throughout the whole supply chain. Countries are adopting tighter border controls; most companies have adopted safety protocols and more people are self-isolating. All of this is starting to impact on our ability to turn around product and orders within 24 hours.
As a result of this, we have taken the decision to change our standard delivery lead-times from our Wigan facilities to 48 hours.
Despatches from our Crayford facility will remain on 24 hour delivery for the time being.
We have also instructed our sales and technical teams to postpone all customer training sessions until the end of April.
We will continue to work closely with our supply chain partners and our customers, to minimise the impact. Further changes may be imposed by government in the future and we will comply fully with all recommendations.
We will circulate further communication updates as things progress.
We thank you for your understanding, custom and loyalty during this very difficult time.
